Adding trailer lighting doesn’t have to mean splicing wires or tracking down circuits. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector plugs inline with the tail light wiring using factory-style connectors. It’s a true plug-and-play setup that keeps the vehicle wiring intact and gets you ready to tow quickly.
The harness connects right behind each tail light, keeping the install neat and out of sight. Once plugged in, the converter box tucks securely away and the 4-flat lead routes easily to your hitch area. The end result looks clean and professional, without any loose wires hanging below the bumper.
The 4-pole flat connector provides all of the basic trailer lighting functions—running lights, brake lights, and turn signals—so your trailer stays safe and visible on the road. It’s also compatible with standard 4-flat accessories and adapters when you need to connect to other wiring setups.
For vehicles without factory tow wiring, this harness includes an integrated converter that adapts the vehicle’s separate brake and turn signals into a combined signal for trailer lights. That means it delivers the proper output every time without needing extra relays or power wiring.
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

sadly there is a little corrosion on 3 of the pins even though I had the rubber boot covering it all
install wsa super easy
only had 1 security lock come loose on a bumpy road and had to remove taillight and re-seat socket

I finally got around to installing this Jeep Liberty wiring harness. I had another one installed from maybe 6 years ago and the left turn signal stopped working so I ordered a new harness since I suspected something went wrong inside the sealed box that combines the brakes and turn signals. This one installed easily and worked so I am a happy camper again.

Thanks for checking. I only pull that vehicle a few times a year. The last time was last Fall so I cant really tell you if it is still fine or not.
The wiring kit for the 2006 Jeep Liberty fit perfectly and was a breeze to install. This is my 2nd experience with these wiring kits and they are simply amazing and simply plug into existing vehicle wiring.
The instructions were clear and easy to understand, and again, the hook-up and installation could not have been easier or simpler.

Wiring harness is great - exact fit and exactly what I needed !!!!!!!
2005 Jeep Liberty trailer wiring harness was quick and easy to install. It took about 20 mins. start to finish and only required a few tools from my toolbox. I highly recommend this product to anyone who owns a 2005 Jeep Liberty. The online video was so nice, it helped tremendously on the install!.

Highly recommend this harness! Since the install on the 2005 liberty Ive installed another harness on my 2007 Commander. Again, very easy to install.
Wow! Could it get any easier? Install was a breeze. Referred to the video about where to mount the converter, followed the directions, and done! I also ordered a set of aftermarket tail lights and installed them along with the harness. No problems at all. Start to finish was approximately 15 minutes. Thanks etrailer for an awesome product!

One year later, everything is working excellent. As a matter of fact, the factory wiring harness was burning out bulbs about as quick as I could change them. Since I have installed the harness from etrailer, I have not had to replace one bulb in the year Ive had it installed. It dealt with a U-Haul 4 pin, twin axle trailer for over 600 miles like a champ! Not a glitch. Still goin strong. Like I said a year ago, awesome product! Thank you etrailer.
I received the wiring kit in a very reasonable amount of time and installed it this morning in less than an hour. The ease of installation was fantastic and though I haven't used it yet my vehicle lighting seems to be working well. Plenty of good quality wire supplied, easy instructions. One note: it's suggested the battery gets disconnected ( a good idea),which I didn't remember until I was almost done but I'm wondering if pulling a couple of fuses would be easier. Regardless, leaving the electrical system connected didn't seem to be a problem. So far, I'm definitely happy. Thanks!

Great! I just finished moving and needed to rent a trailer several times. The wiring harness is still working perfectly and the insulation intact.
It was easy to install the wiring harness on my 2007 Jeep Liberty Sport. I suggest anyone installing this to make sure the surfaces you will apply the double stick adhesive strip is clean or the box will come loose. Also, take your time figuring out exactly how the little red release button operates to unlock and separate the existing light connector from the tail light. Its really simple if you do. Otherwise, you might break it. Get a big piece of cardboard or equivalent to lay on the ground for when you route the wiring from the first tail light connection underneath the back bumper over to the other tail light. I am happy with the shipping, quality, ease of installation and operation of this vehicle wiring harness. I recommend it for anyone wanting a vehicle specific, trailer wiring harness that's easy to install.

Still working fine after one year. I recommend applying bulb grease electrical lubrication to both trailer electrical connectors to keep moisture out of the connectors. keeps them from turning green with corrosion
After one year I couldn’t be happier. This fit my 2006 Jeep Liberty perfectly. And the video made it a snap to install. I tow my boat and everything works flawlessly.

This wiring kit was super easy to install. I watched the video install first and then installed. The wiring kit works great!
It went in smoothly I’m 74 and I was able to get it installed in a couple of hours. Someone younger could most likely do it in an hour. The Video was awesome and probably saved me and hour or two. Thanks etrailer

Well i ordered the wrong part but called in and they took great care of me, and got correct parts coming.
It worked great and was an easy install, plus it was a lot cheaper than other options.
Followed a You Tube video and did the complete install in about an hour taking my time! I did buy some longer zip ties so I could strap the wires to the frame of the hitch but didn't have to.
Delivered on time the right part works great
Very nice set up it took about 30 minutes to do had a little trouble getting the right side of the wires up through to the Light but not to bad. With the connections there is no splicing needed I just zip tied the wires up and used a couple ties left loosely to let the trailer connecter loop through up and out of the way until needed.
Just hooked up my wiring package Monday and got lucky to grab a great deal on a 5x10 trailer on Tuesday,hooked it up and everything worked great.With the very helpful video installation was a breeze, only took me about 30 minutes.I am now a very happy customer and if I need anything else trailer related I'll be sure to stop by again.Thanks guys for a great product!!

Great products and service. I was able to order everything I needed to add a tow hitch and ball to my 2006 Jeep liberty. Very fast shipping. They even called me to verify orders and availability. Clear and easy to follow installation instructions. I hauled an U-Haul trailer from Texas to Ohio without any issues. Even bought a trailer and use it frequently for hardware stoe runs.

Ive used this connector twice in the past year, hooked right up to a rented Uhaul trailer no problem , all lights still perform and function as they should. Very happy to have the option to tow, since I dont own a truck. Etrailers has made it possible. By the way my Jeep was hit from the back smashing the back swing door in the etrailer harness was uneffected,didnt fall off from its mounting position wow Im impressed . thanks for a great product
